HASSETT & GEORGE, P.C. PRIVACY PROTECTION POLICY

In accordance with Connecticut Public Act No. 08-167 entitled “An Act Concerning the Confidentially of Social Security Numbers” (the “Act”),
it is the policy of the law firm of Hassett & George, P.C. (the “Firm”) to safeguard personal information that would lead to the identification of other persons
through the destruction of such information, prior to disposal, following it’s lawful usage.
The Act defines the term “personal information” as information capable of being associated with a particular individual through one or more identifiers
including but not limited to, Social Security numbers, Driver License numbers, State Identification numbers, account numbers from credit or financial institutions,
Passport numbers, Alien Registration numbers, and Health Insurance Identification numbers. The Act does not provide coverage for information lawfully made available
from Federal, State, and Local Government records, nor widely distributed media.
Methods of destruction for the protection of personal information will include, but not be limited to, physical destruction rendering the information unrecognizable,
erasure of data files by a multi pass erasure process through available software, physical destruction of CD-ROMs DVDs or other tangible media not subject to erasure.
Further, during the course of business the Firm will endeavor to:
1. Protect the confidentiality of Social Security Numbers;
2. Prohibit unlawful disclosure of Social Security Numbers, and;
3. Limit access to Social Security Numbers to those in the Firm whom have a need to know basis.
Documents and materials that do not contain information that would lead to the identification of other persons are not subject to this policy.
Employees or agents of the firm who intentionally and willfully violate this policy shall be subject to progressive discipline up to and including termination.
